1. Journal Reflection Assignment:
a) Summarize the key points of the talk and document your thoughts and reactions to it.
b) Make a prediction: Based on what you heard today, how will most of the models end up failing when they are tested on the shake table?
c) Support your prediction with empirical evidence from the talk or your life experiences

Remember—the real power of science lies in making predictions. If what you predict actually happens, then you have a pretty good understanding of how things work. Ultimately, understanding is all that we can ever have, because there is no such thing as “truth.” DUE TOMORROW
